ABOUT VINTAGE & VELVET

Vintage & Velvet, established over a decade ago, evolved out of Amanda’s love of getting up at the crack of dawn to scour various car boots, antiques fairs, markets and brocantes in the hope of finding those quirky “must-have” and colourful vintage pieces for our new home.

This soon evolved into having a stall at both the St Margaret’s Crown Road Summer and Christmas fairs. Next came our quirky shop which quickly became a much loved and vibrant hub in the local high street! It was an ideal opportunity to have a bit of fun, get to know the local community and to “relieve” our home of the ever-increasing weight of vintage items residing there.

Whilst our time in the shop in St. Margaret’s has now come to an end, we continue to travel the length and breadth of the country happily buying and selling at various antiques fairs (come rain or shine) and we are mastering the ‘dark’ art of online sales too. Slowly it must be said but we are getting there with the help of our lovely millennial.

We only stock things we really like and genuinely still have lots of laughs and fun sourcing one-of-a-kind finds from around the UK and Europe (not sure the husband and kids and the dog always fully agree when sleeping in the van surrounded by “all things vintage” or driving 12 hours back from France again surrounded by vintage gems.
